Casey Walz

Enrollment Specialist

I have always had a passion for working with children and helping people. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, I began my career with New Horizon Academy as an Infant Teacher. Over the past 13 years, I have had the opportunity to grow within NHA, moving from the classroom into roles as an Assistant Director and Director before transitioning to the Home Office. There, I spent six years supporting our schools as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. Most recently, I had the exciting opportunity to become NHA’s first Enrollment Specialist. In this role, I support our schools by connecting with prospective families, answering their questions, and helping them schedule tours at our schools. I love speaking with families, sharing all the wonderful things New Horizon Academy has to offer, and, most importantly, helping connect families with the care they need for their children. I am especially excited to be building and shaping the Enrollment Specialist role as we continue to learn and grow. After 13 years with NHA, I am grateful for the many opportunities I have had to grow professionally while continuing to do what I love—helping children, families, and our schools.

Cassie Rangel

Assistant Director

The early years are such a powerful and important time for children and their families, and I have always found purpose in creating safe, nurturing environments where children feel valued, capable, and confident as they explore the world around them. I have a college background and am currently completing my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Leadership through Rasmussen University. I began my journey with New Horizon Academy in 2021 as a solo Preschool A Teacher before transitioning to co-teaching in Preschool 2. After a couple of years in the classroom, I stepped into the Assistant Director role, where I have now been for almost three years. One of my favorite parts of my position is that I still get to interact with the children and spend time in classrooms supporting teachers while also helping the center as a whole. Our school truly feels like a family, and the level of respect, teamwork, and cohesiveness here is unmatched. I especially enjoy planning our summer preschool programs—a project that is very close to my heart—as well as giving tours, meeting new families, and having the opportunity to show them what makes New Horizon Academy so special. I am incredibly proud to support my center every day, and after my experience with NHA, I truly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Emma Chiles

Learning and Development Specialist

I had never worked in early childhood education before when I came across a job posting for New Horizon Academy. I was immediately impressed by the integrity and culture of the organization, and since joining NHA, I have discovered how rewarding it is to support teachers on their journeys to becoming even stronger educators for the children in their care. With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I began my career at NHA as an Administrative Assistant and gradually took on more responsibility supporting staff education and professional development. Today, I help oversee the CDA and tuition reimbursement programs, as well as our online learning management system and trainings. I love supporting our teachers in their continued growth while also working closely with school management and collaborating with many different departments across the Home Office. The variety of my work keeps each day both enjoyable and challenging. I am especially proud of my contributions to our professional development conferences, tuition reimbursement programs, the implementation of our learning management system, and efforts to strengthen connections within the Education team through fun events and Enneagram training. NHA is an amazing company that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the children we serve, and I am proud to work for an organization that values honesty, innovation, and doing what is best for children.
