Hourly wage range: $14.40-$15.75 DOE
*must be available to work any shift between 6:30am and 6:00pm*

The West Des Moines New Horizon Academy is conveniently located off University Avenue and 92nd Street in West Des Moines, Iowa. I am passionate about taking my experience in Early Childhood Education to make an impact that helps the staff flourish and grow in all they do. I am originally from California, but now live in Winterset with my boyfriend. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Leadership, which I earned during my ten years of working in the childcare field before COVID. After COVID, I worked in events and trainings for the, very niche, funeral and transportation industries. I learned a lot but found myself missing the fun and fulfillment that comes with working with children. I’m very much looking forward to getting to know your families!

What do you like about early childhood?
I love that every day is different and that I play an important role in shaping who children will become as adults. I enjoy getting to know children and their families and being surrounded by so much joy each day!

I’m a foster parent and New Horizon Academy has been a dream to work with! They’ve helped in every way they can and truly love these kids like their own. My 2-year-old foster son was unable to talk when we got him at 17 months. He had a speech evaluation 1 year later and not only is he speaking, but he’s speaking at a 3-4 year-old level now! I can’t say enough great things about New Horizon Academy in West Des Moines! I took my time to carefully select the right center for my 3-year-old, and I’m incredibly particular about who cares for my kids. I visited several other centers but didn’t connect with the staff and their curriculum seemed sub-par. Our experience at New Horizon Academy has been nothing but awesome and we LOVE the teachers! My daughter is thriving, she’s learning so much, she’s happy, and she really looks forward to going to school each day!
