Job Description

 

**HIRING BONUS ELIGIBLE**

We are seeking Substitute Childcare Teachers to join our team at New Horizon Academy in the Southwest metro area.

Substitutes in our Southwest metro area will be responsible for working at schools in the Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Shorewood, Edina, Bloomington, Shakopee, or Prior Lake areas.

Work area is flexible and based on where you are located. Subs are asked to travel within a 15 mile radius of their home.

 

All applicants MUST:

  • Have a minimum of 16 qualifying semester credits or a CDA, to be considered teacher-qualified under MN Rule 3.
  • Be able to work a flexible part-time or full-time schedule, Monday-Friday.
  • Have a reliable means of transportation.  
  • Have positive work ethic, and a team-centered attitude.
  • Be willing to learn and grow as an educator.
  • Enjoy working with children!

    ~Previous childcare experience preferred, but not required.

    I am happily married with 3 children, all in which whom have attended New Horizon Academy. I first began at New Horizon Academy through an internship program. I ended up really loving the job and returned for full employment as the Kitchen Manager. With having prior experience with children, I eventually decided to move my skills into the classroom. I obtained my CDA and decided to further advance my career by becoming an Assistant Director.

    What do you like about early childhood?

    I always love the moments when children figure out something new. I like to call these the “lightbulb moments”.
