We are seeking Substitute Childcare Teachers to join our team at New Horizon Academy in the Southwest metro area.
Substitutes in our Southwest metro area will be responsible for working at schools in the Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Shorewood, Edina, Bloomington, Shakopee, or Prior Lake areas.
Work area is flexible and based on where you are located. Subs are asked to travel within a 15 mile radius of their home.

Welcome to the Prior Lake, Minnesota New Horizon Academy! Our school is conveniently located off 140th St NE and Pike Lake Trail NE near Knob Hill Park Playground. We have been serving Prior Lake children and families since 2005. With beautiful classrooms, highly trained teachers, rigorous health and safety procedures, and national accreditations, we know your family will feel right at home at New Horizon Academy! Our Prior Lake early childhood center has two infant childcare rooms, two toddler childcare rooms, four preschool rooms, and one school-age room. We use a research-based daycare curriculum that includes STEAM, reading, social-emotional learning, and more – all with the goal of preparing young children for kindergarten and beyond! *Newly enrolled families or families returning after 9 months only. Not valid with any other offer. Not valid for summer-only enrollments. Prior Lake location only. Tuition credit of $1000 valid for full-time enrollment only. Part-time families and families enrolled 3 days or less will receive a $500 tuition credit. The first half of the credit will be applied only after 4 weeks of continuous enrollment; the second half at the end of 8 weeks of continuous enrollment. Account must be paid in full before any credits will be applied. Based on availability. Family must enroll and pay registration fee by 3/27/26.

I joined the New Horizon Academy family in the spring of 2021 with over 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. It is a pleasure to be working in the same community that I have lived in for over 25 years and to be able to see our NHA families while out and about in our community. I started my journey with New Horizon Academy as a teacher during the summers while working to receive my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Winona State University. Post college, I continued working in the education field until deciding to join the New Horizon Academy school family again as an Early Childhood Manager in Training which led me to becoming the Assistant Director at our beautiful Prior Lake location! In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, singing karaoke, and spending time with my husband.

My baby girl has been attending New Horizon Academy Prior Lake since she was 5 months old. The teachers and staff welcomed her immediately and made sure to listen to my requests as a new mom. I️ received daily photos and updates of her activities which was amazing. I️ was so impressed that even at 5 months old, she was doing arts and crafts!
