I live in Minneapolis with my husband, children, and our cat. I enjoy reading, going to concerts, and spending time with my family when I am not at the center. I stumbled upon New Horizon Academy after graduating from Winona State University and was quickly deemed an NHA lifer. I started out as a preschool teacher in Champlin and moved into a management position here at Laurel Village in 2022.

    BIO

Hello! I recently moved to Minneapolis with my fiancé and our two cats. Having grown up in California, spent a few years in Nevada, and lived the past 10 years in Montana, I’ve loved settling into what feels like our forever home. When I’m not at work, you can find me doing a puzzle, playing video games, listening to a good book, or exploring Minneapolis. I look forward to being part of your child’s journey here at Laurel Village.

    Our Learning Programs

All three of our children have been attended this New Horizon Academy location. The directors are responsive, kind, and easy to work with. The facility is spacious, clean, and modern. There are some truly outstanding teachers in the school as well. I’ve struggled with new faces at times, but this is standard for the early childhood industry and New Horizon Academy does a great job at training new teachers. I feel my children are well-cared for here.

    — Isa L., New Horizon Academy Minneapolis parent

Trusting your child’s care in the hands of others is difficult. We looked at every form of childcare and selected New Horizon Academy because they treat the children with respect, they honor their mental growth by introducing them to Montessori-like activities, and they love every kid that walks in the door. You can feel it. We think the entire staff is friendly, we love the outdoor playground, and we love that this downtown location feels very bright with sunlight, yet has privacy from the public.

    — Kenzie K., New Horizon Academy Minneapolis parent

I know when I was returning to work from maternity leave, I struggled so much with the idea of leaving my son with someone else. I have been floored by how kind and caring everyone at Laurel Village New Horizon Academy is. It made the transition so much easier, and a year later things are still just as awesome. We’ve especially appreciated that the director is so organized, nurturing, and great at communicating, as are all teachers and staff. I would highly recommend this center to anyone.

    — Christina W., New Horizon Academy Minneapolis parent

I’ve been happy having my kiddo here at the Minneapolis Laurel Village location! They have very professional and kind staff. They also use the ProCare app which is helpful for receiving updates and photos during the day.
