We are seeking Substitute Childcare Teachers to join our team at New Horizon Academy in the Southwest metro area.
Substitutes in our Southwest metro area will be responsible for working at schools in the Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Shorewood, Edina, Bloomington, Shakopee, or Prior Lake areas.
Work area is flexible and based on where you are located. Subs are asked to travel within a 15 mile radius of their home.

I have been working in childcare centers for over 8 years, but have been working with children for close to 15 years! I love being a part of such an important time in their life, and seeing all the learning and growth that happens in the early years. Outside of work, I can usually be found trying new restaurants and coffee shops around Des Moines, attending yoga classes, and hanging out with friends and family. I also love to travel, especially to the beach!

Our child attends here and we love this daycare! The leadership and staff are caring, attentive, and professional. We were hesitant about sending our child to a daycare center but this place has put our minds at ease. We toured several daycare centers in the area but nothing compares to the Johnston New Horizon Academy. They do projects, learn songs, and have a curriculum full of fun. Any concerns we’ve had have always been quickly addressed. It is a little pricier than other daycares in the area, but it is well worth it.
My daughter loves New Horizon Academy! The rooms are open with many windows, and they have a communal center room they call the “great room” where the children can come together and have inside recess. The classrooms are set up for their educational success. The director is communicative, and all the teachers we have interacted with have been great. We are very happy here.
I cannot say enough great things about New Horizon Academy in Johnston. My 1 and 3 year old have experienced a few childcare centers and nannies and none of them have come close to the care, individualized attention, and love provided by the staff here. I know they are safe, happy, learning, and loved. Exactly what you are hoping for as a parent.
Ever since being enrolled, New Horizon Academy has shown me that I have nothing to worry about when dropping off my child at school. I don’t have to worry throughout the day because I know he’s in good hands with all the staff. They’re always welcoming and my child loves coming to daycare every morning. I enjoy the app so I can know what my child is doing throughout the day as well as what he has for breakfast, lunch, and snack time. I also like the fact that I can communicate with staff through it if needed. Communication has never been an issue since I’ve been here. They provide fun learning experiences for the kids here, and my son loves it!
