Fizzy Olympic Rings Craft

Although the 2020 Summer Olympics have been postponed until next year, it does not mean you have to postpone the fun projects associated with the Olympics! Celebrate the upcoming event with this fun Fizzy Olympic Ring craft that incorporates STEAM.

Here are the supplies you will need:

  • Baking Soda
  • Vinegar
  • Food Coloring
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Safety Goggles
  • Tray

Step One:

First, mix the baking soda and a small amount of water until the baking soda has formed into a paste-like substance.

Step Two:

Use your hands to form the baking soda into circular shapes resembling the famous Olympic rings. Place rings on the tray. Once finished, place the tray in the freeze for about 1 hour.

Step Three:

While waiting for the Olympic rings to finish freezing, fill squeeze bottles with vinegar to about an inch and add food coloring to each bottle with the following Olympic colors: blue, yellow, black, green, and red.

Step Four:

Grab the tray from the freezer and head outside with both the tray and the bottles full of food coloring.

Step Five:

Start spraying each Olympic ring with the coordinating color and watch as the baking soda reacts to the vinegar!
