Child Care Assistance in Idaho

New Horizon Academy proudly accepts the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) state subsidy at all our nationally accredited locations in Boise and Meridian. You don't have to figure the paperwork out alone. Our directors will walk you through every step and help you get started.

Qualifications for ICCP

To qualify for the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP), a family must meet the eligibility requirements below.

How to Apply for ICCP

Three steps with the State of Idaho, and you don't have to wait for approval to start care!

  1. 1

    Gather your documents

You’ll need a photo ID, proof of income such as recent paystubs, your current monthly child care costs, and a birth certificate for each child.

  2. 2

    Submit your application

Apply online through idalink, Idaho’s self-service portal, call the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare at 877-456-1233, or visit your local DHW field office.

Apply through Idaho DHW (opens in a new tab)
  3. 3

    Tell us right away

As soon as your Approval or Notice of Action letter arrives, bring it to your school’s front desk so we can update your billing.

What ICCP Costs at New Horizon Academy

ICCP is a shared-cost program. The State of Idaho pays a portion of your tuition, and your family pays a monthly copay that the state sets based on your income and hours worked. That copay is paid directly to your school.

Here’s what that looks like with us:

You don’t have to wait to start. Pay 50% of your weekly tuition while your application is pending, and your child can begin right away. If ICCP later pays more than you’ve already paid, the difference is credited back to your account.

ICCP families receive a tuition discount that we don’t offer to other families.

We bill monthly, at the beginning of the month, so you know exactly what you owe in your first week, no surprise balances later.

If the state rate doesn’t cover our full tuition, your family is responsible for the difference. Your school director will walk you through the exact numbers before you enroll, so there are no surprises.

ICCP Questions from Idaho Families

Yes. New Horizon Academy accepts the Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) subsidy at all six of our nationally accredited Idaho locations in Boise and Meridian.

All six of our Idaho schools accept ICCP: four in Boise (West LaSalle Street, West Ustick Road, East Boise Avenue, and West Emerald Street) and two in Meridian (North Meridian Road and South Meridian Road).

ICCP serves families whose children are under 13, or 13 and older with a disability. Parents and guardians must be working, attending school, or participating in an approved job training program, and eligibility is based on family size and household income. The State of Idaho determines eligibility.

The copay is the family’s monthly share of tuition. The State of Idaho sets the amount based on your income and hours worked, and you pay it directly to your school rather than to the state.

Not always. ICCP pays a portion of tuition and your family pays a monthly copay. If the state’s rate doesn’t cover our full tuition, your family is responsible for the difference. Your school director will review the exact numbers with you before you enroll.
