Welcome to our school in Overland Park, Kansas! Since opening in January 2024, our dedicated teachers and early childhood professionals have been committed to providing high-quality daycare and preschool programs for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We are conveniently located on the corner of 119th Street and Quivira Road, primarily serving families in Overland Park and Johnson County. Each of our childcare programs is designed to nurture and prepare children for kindergarten, by using a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates STEAM, reading, social-emotional learning, motor development, and more. With national accreditation from NAEYC, we ensure exceptional education and care for your infant, toddler, or preschooler. My journey in early childhood education began long before it became my career—I have always loved caring for children, from babysitting in my younger years to knowing with certainty that I wanted to dedicate my life to working with young learners. I have had the privilege of working in classrooms ranging from infants through pre-K, and those hands-on experiences inspired me to step into leadership as a School Director. I hold both an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, with a specialization in administration and leadership. At New Horizon Academy in Overland Park, I am committed to creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and where families and educators work hand in hand to support each child’s growth. Leading this school community is a true joy, and I take great pride in helping children explore, learn, and thrive each day.

What do you like about early childhood?
What I love most about early childhood is witnessing those everyday moments of discovery—the spark in a child’s eyes when something clicks for the first time, whether it’s taking a first step, sounding out a word, or making a new friend. These early years lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning, and there is nothing more rewarding than being part of a child’s very first experiences with curiosity, confidence, and joy.

What I love most about our building is the welcoming, homelike feeling it has. You step inside and are met with friendly faces and happy energy, where children and staff alike are smiling, laughing, and sharing the day together.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about New Horizon Academy in Overland Park! From the moment we walked in, we felt like family. The staff is incredibly warm, caring, and attentive. Our daughter has been attending New Horizon Academy Overland Park since it opened, and we love it here! The facility is always clean and well-organized, with a variety of engaging activities to keep the kids entertained and learning. They have numerous outdoor and indoor play areas as well, allowing the kids to change environments throughout the day. Communication is great; they provide updates and pictures all day, so as a parent, you don’t feel like you’re missing a thing! I also appreciate that they work with us on coordinating care regarding developmental milestones. I’ve recommended this daycare to multiple families!
We love New Horizon Academy and so does our little boy! Every day as we are pulling into the parking lot, he says, “I love my school!”. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the staff is caring and well-trained. We had a bad experience at our last daycare so I had my guard up, but New Horizon Academy has restored my faith in safe and caring daycares! We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience.
Amazing childcare center! All staff are caring, knowledgeable, and supportive. My daughter has been going to the Overland Park location since it opened and we could not be any happier. Her teacher cares about her wellbeing, and I love how they use Conscious Discipline in the classroom with the children. You should definitely send your children here.
