Substitutes in our Minneapolis metro area will be responsible for working at schools in the St. Louis Park, Edina, Hennepin, Lake Street, Laurel Village, Roseville, and Arden Hills, areas.

The Maplewood, Minnesota New Horizon Academy is conveniently located off Highway 36 and White Bear Avenue, near North St. Paul. Our Maplewood daycare opened in 1985, is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and holds a four-star rating from Minnesota Parent Aware. Our Maplewood childcare center has one infant room, two toddler rooms, two preschool rooms, and one school-age room. All of our childcare classrooms utilize an age-appropriate curriculum that incorporates reading, STEAM, social-emotional learning, and more. As a first-time mom, I was nervous to send my baby girl to daycare at first. However, the Maplewood New Horizon Academy has been nothing but absolutely amazing, reassuring, compassionate, and understanding! Parents are able to message the teachers throughout the day on an app which makes communication easy. All in all, I’m very happy with my choice to send my daughter here. There’s no doubt in my mind that she is receiving the very best care from the very best teachers.
Our Maplewood daycare center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Yes! At New Horizon Academy Maplewood (Hwy 36), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
