We are seeking Substitute Childcare Teachers to join our team at New Horizon Academy in the Southwest metro area.
Substitutes in our Southwest metro area will be responsible for working at schools in the Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Shorewood, Edina, Bloomington, Shakopee, or Prior Lake areas.
Work area is flexible and based on where you are located. Subs are asked to travel within a 15 mile radius of their home.

The Lakeville, MN New Horizon Academy is conveniently located off of Cedar Avenue, 175th Street West and Dodd Boulevard. Our newly renovated Lakeville daycare opened in 2007, is accredited by the National Association for Young Children, and holds a four-star rating from Minnesota Parent Aware. Our Lakeville childcare center has one infant daycare rooms, two toddler daycare rooms, and four preschool and pre-kindergarten rooms. All of our childcare classrooms use an age-appropriate curriculum, which incorporates reading, STEAM, social-emotional learning, and more. We utilize age-appropriate learning modules to prepare children for kindergarten and life beyond! We’d love to meet your family and show you our beautiful daycare classrooms. Tuition credit of up to $1,500 valid for full-time enrollment only. Part-time families and families enrolled 3 days or less will receive up to a $600 tuition credit. Credit will be applied incrementally in three equal amounts at 30, 60, and 90 days of continuous enrollment—up to $500 credits for full-time families and up to $200 credits for part-time families. Account must be paid in full before any credit will be applied. Based on space availability. Family must enroll and pay registration fee by 5/29/26.

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I moved to Farmington, MN in 2019 with my husband, Josh, and our two cats, Loki and Nova. I received my bachelor’s degree in educational studies, with a focus on early care and development, as well as a master’s degree in early childhood administration. When not at work, I enjoy spending time visiting family, hosting game nights, or relaxing with a good TV show or movie.

What do you like about early childhood?
What I like about early childhood is the potential we have as educators to create a long-lasting, positive difference in a child’s life. During the early years children absorb so much information, try new things, and see the world in a unique way. It’s amazing to see them grow and learn throughout each classroom.

What makes our school special is our community. Our close-knit teachers work together like a family, creating an environment that is warm and welcoming to all children and families. It’s more than just a place of learning, it’s a home filled with care and support for everyone who comes through our door.

This is a wonderful daycare for our infant and preschooler! The staff is caring, and they develop great relationships with families. Communication is wonderful and they are more flexible with scheduling than any other daycare center we have used in the past.
