The Boise Avenue New Horizon Academy is conveniently located in the Southeast neighborhood of Boise, Idaho off Boise Avenue and Gekeler Lane. Our daycare opened in 1996 and is one of four New Horizon Academy locations in Boise. We are proud to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the gold standard in daycare accreditation. Our Boise childcare center has one infant daycare room, four toddler daycare rooms, two preschool rooms, and one pre-kindergarten room. All of our childcare classrooms utilize an age-appropriate curriculum, which incorporates reading, STEAM, social-emotional learning, and more. Awards and Accolades
I started in Early Childhood Education completely by accident, but quickly fell in love with the relationships I made with the kiddos and their families. I have 4 kids of my own- 2 older stepchildren, a son, and am due with a daughter in September 2025. I also have 4 dogs, so my life is very full of fur and love! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, building furniture, going out to eat, and spending time with my family.

What do you like about early childhood?
I love making connections with kiddos and watching them grow. It is the best feeling to walk into a classroom and have children excited to say hi and show me what they have worked on that day.
What makes your school unique?
We have some very long-term teachers at this campus, as well as long-term families! We have a few families who have been bringing their children to New Horizon Academy Boise Avenue for over a decade, which I think is very special!

I am 32 years old and have been working at New Horizon Academy for 10 years. I have a one daughter and a dog named Maui! I love working for New Horizon Academy because my coworkers have become family to me, and the care we provide for young children is the best I’ve seen compared to other schools.

My oldest (who is now 8) went here for several years and we were heartbroken to leave. The staff felt like family and my daughter was always happy, clean, and well taken care of. She learned so much to prepare her for kindergarten. I now have a toddler and am happy to see that the same director is still there! She is amazing. We will be sending our son here as well and can’t wait to be back. I toured a few other daycares closer to home since this one is a little drive for us but decided that I would much rather drive a little farther for the peace of mind that New Horizon Academy gives me! We can’t wait for our son to learn and grow here!
New Horizon Academy in Boise has been so amazing for our family! The teachers and school leaders really work with you while your child is in the infant room to establish a routine that meets both your and your baby’s needs, and they help so much with the transition to the toddler room. I was—and can still be—a super anxious mom, but with the ProCare app, I can check in on my baby whenever I need to and see pictures throughout the day. If I have questions or want to see more photos, the classroom leads are incredibly helpful at answering questions and sending additional pictures to ease any separation anxiety I have. I seriously recommend this academy to any parents looking for quality care and education for their little ones! You can truly tell that the staff love working there and put genuine effort into teaching and caring for your child!
My son has been going here for several months, and we have absolutely loved it. He is always clearly well cared for, we get lots of photos throughout the day, he loves all of his teachers, and most importantly, he is always happy at drop-off and pick-up. I’ve loved seeing all of his projects that come home, and he has learned so much. He has acquired a ton of new words to his vocabulary, and mastered several things in sign language. He’s developed a love of books, and his teachers are always happy to help. The directors seem caring and involved. Thank you New Horizon Academy for taking such good care of my little guy!
