Our school has been serving families in Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Fridley, and Minneapolis with high-quality daycare, preschool, and early childhood programs since 1993. Our Brooklyn Center daycare center is accredited by NAEYC, the gold standard in daycare accreditation. All New Horizon Academy childcare classrooms utilize a comprehensive early learning curriculum, with a focus on STEAM, reading, social-emotional development, and more. I have 29+ years of experience in childcare and working with kids ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Working with children is my passion and helps me find inspiration each day. With the encouragement of New Horizon Academy, I graduated and earned my degree in early childhood education at the age of 55.

Early childhood is my passion. I originally went to school for nursing and was a nursing assistant for 6 years. Taking care of people was always something I knew I was going to do. I got into the early childhood field once I had my own children. I also served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

What do you like about early childhood?
I love seeing the kids flourish – there is so much growth and development that happens in their first 5 years. I love knowing that I can provide a positive and safe environment for kids to just be kids.

Our Brooklyn Center daycare center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Yes! At New Horizon Academy Brooklyn Center, we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
