I have two children – Christopher and Meghan. I have a beautiful granddaughter, Braelynn who is 7. I live in Lakeville. I am obsessed with anything Disney. In my spare time, I love to cook, bake, decorate cookies, make crafts, sew, read, listen to podcasts, and be in the sun.

What do you like about early childhood?
The children of course!!! The happiness that I feel when a child has reached a new milestone or has successfully mastered a new skill has not diminished during the 35 years I have worked with children. The joy on their faces, the hugs, the questions, their thirst for knowledge, and the exuberance they have for everything. There are so many reasons to love early childhood.
What makes your school unique?
The family atmosphere…We are a small center that feels warm and inviting. With being a smaller center, we are able to really form bonds with the families. Many of our staff have been here for over 15 years.
What is your favorite children’s book?
“Love You Forever”, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”, and “The Giving Tree”

New Horizon Academy is more than a daycare for my children; it is a second home. The director and teachers are exceptionally nice and very passionate about their profession. They interact with every single child on an individual level, and are aware of each child’s needs, making them feel warm and special. I feel safe and secure knowing my children are in great hands when I leave them at school every day.
I LOVE this daycare! I send both of my kids here and have been nothing but overjoyed with this school. The staff are kind and thoughtful and the director goes above and beyond to make sure parents are happy and comfortable. It’s a big deal leaving your kids for the better part of the day, and knowing they are happy and well cared for warms my heart. The activities this school provides are also so amazing – they’re always doing something fun! The center is clean and the toys are well-kept. I could not recommend the New Horizon Academy Apple Valley location more!
I can’t say enough great things about this childcare center! The teachers and director always have fun activities planned to keep the children engaged and learning throughout the day. The teachers are also very respectful and form incredible relationships with the children that they take care of. I can’t recommend this center enough for your childcare needs!
We have been attending this daycare for about 5 years, and the director and teachers are absolutely wonderful! My kids love coming here every day and have made lots of friends. They do lots of fun learning activities with the kids, and my daughter loves showing me all the art she’s made. We couldn’t imagine going anywhere else!
