Desiree Culhane, director at New Horizon Academy East Apple Valley, was recently interviewed on the Adam and Jordana Show on WCCO Radio, where she shared insights about the importance of supporting mental health in children under five years old.

During the interview, Desiree highlighted how New Horizon Academy integrates social-emotional learning and kindness into its curriculum to help children develop emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and empathy from an early age. She explained that nurturing mental health is just as vital as supporting academic and physical growth and that these foundational skills prepare children for lifelong success.

Desiree also shared that New Horizon Academy East Apple Valley is the company’s first Certified Kindness School, a distinction that recognizes the center’s ongoing commitment to creating a culture of compassion, inclusion, and care.
