POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with month-end accounting related duties as well as preparing internal reports for senior management. This position will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. This position is based in our corporate office located in Plymouth, MN.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assisting in Month End Close Process
• Maintaining detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Accounting for Fixed Assets
• Posting journal entries and calculating accruals
• Testing of internal controls
• Managing multiple databases
• Reviewing credit card activity
• Assisting in preparation of financial statements
• Tracking center expense budgets
• Preparing documentation for external auditors
• Creating Internal Invoices
• Filing sales tax returns
• Preparing weekly, and bi-weekly internal reports

 

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent including work in related field
• 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field (preferred)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
